Pomplamoose

Pomplamoose are an indie music and indie jazz duo consisting of multi-instrumentalist Jack Conte and vocalist Nataly Dawn.  Despite the group’s presence being mostly through video uploads to YouTube and MySpace with few live performances, the collaboration has garnered significant fan support, with approximately 95,000 subscribers on their YouTube channel as of March 2010. The group first gained widespread recognition when their video performance of Hail Mary was featured on the front page of YouTube. The band recently produced the next studio album of Julia Nunes.

Here are some songs:

OK Go “This Too Shall Pass”

Good looking music clip for OK Go’s “This Too Shall Pass” off the album “Of the Blue Colour of the Sky” and it’s second variant which is also amazing. OK go is a rock band from Chicago, Illinois, now residing in Los Angeles. The band is composed of Damian Kulash (lead vocals and guitar), Tim Nordwind (bass guitar and backing vocalist), Dan Konopka (drums and percussion) and Andy Ross (keyboards, guitar and backing vocals), who joined them in 2005, replacing Andy Duncan.

Oren Lavie – Her morning elegance

Beautiful music clip of Oren Lavie song “Her morning elegance”. It is made in once place but stop motion keeps it changing and song is quite good too.

Playing For Change

Today I stumbled on very interesting project “Playing For Change” and if you like life music with soul you will like these artists.  The hole deal of this project is to unite people by music and they do that by recording one song in different parts of world with local street and popular artists like Bono from U2. Most of these artist have never met and some play,  some sing. You can read and see videos on there page http://playingforchange.com/.

Here are some examples of songs they sung:

Chanda Mama

This Song Around The World is a folk tune from Chennai, India. We started the track in New Orleans and added musicians from the across the globe before finally delivering it the people of it’s origin. We ended up in Chennai recording and filming the vocals from the Oneness Choir. The track has a feeling of perseverance and joy and features vocalists from four continents.

War, No More Trouble

As we made our way around the world we encountered love, hate, rich and poor, black and white, and many different religious groups and ideologies. It became very clear that as a human race we need to transcend from the darkness to the light and music is our weapon of the future. This song around the world features musicians who have seen and overcome conflict and hatred with love and perseverance. “We don’t need more trouble, what we need is love”. The spirit of Bob Marley always lives on.

Bring It On Home

After we discovered Roger Ridley performing on the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica and asked him if we could record him singing the John Lennon version of “Stand By Me,” we were so blown away with his presence and enthusiasm toward music and people that we wanted to film his entire set. This song, “Bring It On Home,” Roger dedicated to Mark in that moment.

One Love

“Let’s get together and feel alright”. While recording and filming in Dharmsala India, where we planned to add some Tibetan singers to this track we passed by a small record shop on the side of the road. The display featured about 50 Tibetan CD covers and one Bob Marley album in the middle. This song around the world is in dedication to the love inside each of us. We can achieve far more together as a human race than we ever can apart. One Love.

Stand by Me

Four years ago while walking down the street in Santa Monica, CA the voice of Roger Ridley singing “Stand By me” was heard from a block away. His voice, soul and passion set us on a course around the world to add other musicians to his performance. This song transformed Playing For Change from a small group of individuals to a global movement for peace and understanding. This track features over 35 musicians collaborating from all over the world. They may have never met in person, but in this case, the music does the talking.
